JSI has also agreed to undertake both construction of the facility and maintenance for the project that has a power purchase agreement for energy and solar renewable energy credits with Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC).

Construction at The PSEG Milford Solar Farm will begin in September 2012 and is expected to this month and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Commenting on the development Delaware Governor Jack Markell remarked, "Through the innovative partnership between DEMEC, the Town of Milford, and PSEG, the Milford Solar Farm joins more than 30 megawatts of other solar installations in Delaware, making our state a national leader in solar deployment per capita."

Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Secretary Collin O’Mara added, "The PSEG Milford Solar Farm will be among the largest solar projects on the East Coast and will help prove that we can have cleaner and less costly energy at the same time."
