The funds will be utilized by the department to provide its state’s counties with low-cost loans for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades.
EPA’s Regional Administrator for the Pacific Southwest Jared Blumenfeld reiterated the agency’s commitment to Hawaii’s water infrastructure.
"Our goal, along with the Department of Health, is ensure that Hawaii has safe, reliable drinking water and proper wastewater treatment," added Blumenfeld.
