The project with a total 142,000-square-foot photovoltaic (PV) array will produce a 1,161,328 kWh of clean electricity annually.

The retailer uses all the energy produced by the solar installation that also reduces carbon emissions by 801 tons per annum.

Commenting on the installations IKEA Bloomington store manager James Organ said "The Twin Cities coworkers are excited to contribute to this goal with our newly operational solar panels."

The installation was executed in partnership with the City of Bloomington, Xcel Energy and SoCore Energy.

The installations in Bloomington mark the 31st solar power installation at IKEA’s stores with a total installed capacity of 38MW energy.
