Toyota will deliver a total of 150 PHVs to the demonstration program partners across US, including Leadership group, as part of its global program to demonstrate plug-in hybrid technology, educate and inform the public and capture real-world driving data.

Toyata plans to deploy a total of 600 Prius PHVs globally, including the 150 PHVs in the US. Later this summer, Silicon Valley groups and companies, including UC Berkeley, will accept the delivery of another 30 of the demonstration program vehicles.

The information gathered from the demonstration program will be used in the development of the Prius PHV coming to market in 2012.

ChargePoint Network provides information on the charging status by SMS text or email notification, location of unoccupied charging stations via smart phones and includes authenticated access to eliminate energy theft, authorized energizing, smart grid integration for utility load management with future V2G capabilities and a ChargePoint iPhone app.
