Apex will oversee construction of the power project and will retain a minority ownership interest.

The wind power project worth $470m broke ground in April 2012 is expected to commence commercial operation late this year.

It will generate enough electricity to meet the needs of around 100,000 homes.

Apex secured long-term power purchase agreements with three electric utilities in the region for 100% of the project’s capacity.

Apex finalized the sale of Canadian Hills to Atlantic Power Corp in March 2012 and Atlantic closed a $310m construction financing for the wind farm.

Blattner Energy will provide engineering, procurement, construction and balance of plant services.
