The first plant is the Corinth wind farm, located near the city of Corinth in the north-east of the Peloponnese, and the other facility that has just started operations is the Kourtesi II photovoltaic plant, located in the Ilia region.
The wind farm consists of 32 wind turbines each with a capacity of 0.85MW, and is expected to produce 57 million kWh of electricity per year.
With an installed capacity of 4.8MW, the photovoltaic plant is expected to generate about 6.15 million kWh annually.
The clean energy produced by both plants will reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by nearly 70,000 tons per year, Enel Green Power claimed.
Enel Green Power is the Enel Group company engaged the development and management of renewable energy sources in Italy and across the globe.
