The Fluke 2AC tester detects energized circuits from 90 to 1000 V ac and defective grounds and is useful for electricians on the factory floor and for residential purposes, the company said.

The tip of the pocket-sized tester will glow red when within close proximity of an outlet, terminal strip, or power cord where voltage is present.

However, Fluke warns that even if the VoltAlert does not light, the circuit should be checked with a voltmeter.

The company claims that the Fluke 2AC is built with special low power circuitry to sustain battery life, and also has an always-on feature, allowing it to be ready to use at a moment’s notice.

The tester has also a battery check button function to ensure battery, and it is a category IV 1000 V overvoltage rated product.
