As per the agreement, enXco, through its Operations Control Center (OCC), will provide remote monitoring services for wind farm located in Baie-des-Sables.
enXco’s OCC will allow Cartier to have permanent monitoring of the Baie-des-Sables site and perform remote resets or dispatch Cartier’s wind technicians as required.
enXco Service Canada O&M Business Development manager Timothy Fratta said the company leverages its NERC-compliant OCC to serve Cartier’s needs in Gaspésie.
"Effective remote monitoring represents a valuable tool for wind farm owners, ensuring that resets are performed safely and contributing to lower down time," Fratta said.
The power project, which consists 73 units of GE 1.5MW SLE wind turbine, was commissioned in November 2006.
It produces clean energy for about 21,000 homes, enXco said.
