About $25m support will be provided for smart grid technologies.
A $16.8m guaranteed loan will be provided to the Roanoke Electric Membership Corp to fund system improvement projects to enhance reliability.

Dixie Electric Power Association will receive a $29m loan to build or improve 301 miles of distribution line and make other system improvements.
The $201m in loans will be are provided by USDA Rural Development’s Rural Utilities Service.
USDA Rural Development also funds energy conservation and renewable energy projects.
