The company will supply and commission 61 of its V126-3.3 MW turbines for an unnamed client. The deal also includes a three-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement.

Vestas plans to commence wind turbines delivery in second quarter of 2016, while the wind farm is expected to be commissioned in the second half of the year.

Vestas US and Canada sales and service division president Chris Brown said: "Historically, Oklahoma has been 2 MW territory, but this order once again emphasizes the versatility of our product portfolio and shows that we can draw from both our 2 MW and 3 MW platforms to select exactly the right turbine to meet our customers’ needs."

The V126-3.3 MW turbine, which is part of Vestas’ 3MW platform, features five rotor variants, two nacelle configurations, various power modes, and 15 hub heights.

Vestas said the 3MW platform is designed to maximize annual energy production and optimize levelised cost of energy.

The company recently upgraded the 3MW platform to increase energy production and reduce energy costs.

The company expects the platform upgrade to increase annual energy production in all wind classes by up to 12% based on site-specific conditions.
