The project, which is currently in its pre-construction phase, is expected to generate more than 71,000 MWh of electricity annually and power just below 15,500 households.

Building works are due to commence in the autumn, with commissioning planned for the fourth quarter of 2016.

NTR chief executive Rosheen McGuckian said: "We are very pleased to have completed another significant wind project acquisition and our first in Scotland.

"Together with the acquisition of the single turbine site projects in Northern Ireland in 2014 and the recent acquisition of the 15MW Ora More wind project in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, this takes NTR’s current total wind portfolio to 42MW."

NTR is planning to construct and operate 175MW of wind portfolio in the UK and Ireland in the coming two years.

The company aims to build all projects and operate them over their lifetimes. NTR has constructed and operated 1.75GW of wind projects in the US, UK and Ireland.

NTR works in conjunction with wind development teams to construct and operate long-term high yielding assets.
