As per the deal, Everbright International will build, operate and own the Lankao project for a period of 30 years.

The project, which is expected to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 800 tons, is planned to be developed in two phases.

First phase of the project is planned be built with an investment of approximately CNY280m ($44m) and will have a daily household waste processing capacity of 500 tons.

Additionally, the waste-to-power plant is expected to generate approximately 52,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually while complying with the Euro 2000 Standard.

Everbright International also signed an investment cooperation framework agreement with the People’s Government of Lankao County for an environmental protection veinous industrial park.

Approximately RMB3bn is planned to be invested by Everbright for the construction of a number of environmental protection projects over the next three to five years.

Besides the new household waste-to-energy project, the projects include water restoration projects, biomass integrated utilization projects and hazardous waste integrated treatment projects among others.

The compnay expects the projects to provide Lankao County with provide comprehensive integrated services to facilitate the environmental management.

Everbright International CEO Chen Xiaoping said: "Last year, the Group secured waste-to-energy projects in several inland provinces including Anhui, Hunan, Henan, and Sichuan."
