Planned to be built in Bladen County, the $100m project is expected to start operations in late 2015.
The plant, which will feature about 200,000 panels, will be built on about 300 acres of farmland.
Upon completion, the project will generate enough energy for about 10,000 homes in the region.
Advanced Energy will supply the inverters required for the project and ISS is accepting bids for the panels.
ISS CEO John Green said construction should move rapidly once ground is broken which is scheduled sometime in early spring.
"The PPA signed on this project is with Duke Energy and is for fifteen years which should facilitate financing for the actual buyer, or investor on this project."
ISS is taking the company public sometime in 2015 and Green states that with almost 1GW of projects in North Carolina, the company’s expansion is occurring rapidly.
ISS installs renewable energy solar photovoltaic systems of all types and sizes.
The company offers a range of services including site procurement, site analysis, engineering, design, turnkey installation, financing options and solar consulting services.
