EPA is engaged in numerous local, state, regional, and national clean energy program activities. The company will support these agency activities by offering direct technical assistance to the EPA and state and the local governments; by conducting analyses, studies, and the evaluations of clean energy technologies on air quality, climate change, and human health; developing guidance and tools based on outcome of these investigations; and offering meeting, workshop, and other communications support.

In supporting the EPA, the company will draw on a deep and wide body of experience gained from working directly for various state and local governments on the climate change and clean energy issues, and from offering technical assistance to three major regional climate initiatives underway in the US: the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the Western Climate Initiative, and the Midwestern Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord.

We are likely to see major changes in the climate policy landscape over the next five years, states Anne Choate, ICF vice president and program manager. Over 30 states have already developed climate action plans, with more underway. Not surprisingly, clean energy strategies form the core of all of these plans. We are excited to be involved on the ground level of these initiatives.

With 25 years of climate change and clean energy experience, ICF stands ready to help EPA and its state and local partners design and implement effective clean energy strategies, adds Karl Hausker, ICF vice president and deputy program manager.
