Located approximately 160 miles from Mexico City, the $217m San Luis de la Paz facility is built adjacent to the company’s majority-owned 600MW Bajio plant.

Under a 20-year deal, majority of the power generated from the San Luis de la Paz plant will be sold to a mining company with the remaining supplied to industries in the region.

Samsung Engineering managed the construction of the power plant.

Jointly owned by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and China Huaneng /Guangdong Yudean, InterGen operates 12 power plants in the UK, the Netherlands, Mexico and Australiawith a a combined capacity of 7,892MW.
