Digsilent’s power system analysis capabilities and Trimble Energy software solutions will allow electric utility customers to conduct Digsilent PowerFactory network calculations directly from Trimble network information system (NIS) and distribution management system (DMS) solutions.

The calculations will help utilities manage operations across their network.

Trimble energy and public administration general manager Kai Lehtinen said: "We can now provide our customers with fluent and streamlined planning workflows from long-range planning and investment management to technical and construction planning.

"The integration enables fast and efficient supply restoration workflows for the utilities’ dispatch personnel using the Trimble DMS outage management tools."

The integration will provide additional functionalities such as optional modules for load-flow, short-circuit analysis, and power quality and reliability assessment.

Digsilent CEO and president Martin Schmieg said: "PowerFactory capabilities combined with Trimble leading-edge NIS and DMS solutions will now enable a unique set of planning and outage management tools for electric utilities in the North America market as well."
