Cummins has put on the market a new range of diesel powered gensets for sites with high power demands and tough emissions regulations. Producing NOx levels of less than 2 mg/Nm3, the sets are claimed to comply with the toughest European requirements, including TA-Luft standards. They also comply with that standard in respect of CO, hydrocarbon, particulate and black smoke emissions, without the need for SCR or other after-treatment measures.

The range is designated DQKE at power and standby ratings of 1875 and 2063 kVA (50 Hz), and DQKF diesel at 2000 and 2200 kVA. They are powered by the QSK60 diesel, a V16 unit with various special features – a low temperature aftercooler on the air intake to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, and a two piece articulated piston to minimise oil consumption and increase durability. The standard container brings the noise level down to 75 dBA at 1m. All units are available with the PowerCommand 2 digital control system.
