Hydrostor of Toronto and AECOM have announced a partnership to jointly develop, market, propose and construct projects using Hydrostor’s adiabatic compressed air energy storage technology, employing their proprietary underwater air cavity or underground geological formations.

This global partnership will accelerate deployment of what Hydrostor/AECOM describe as “one of the lowest cost, bulk-energy storage technologies available.”

Curtis VanWalleghem, Hydrostor president & CEO said matching Hydrostor’s technology with AECOM’s design and execution capabilities “results in a compelling case for compressed air to be the leading solution in the long-duration segment of the energy storage market.”
