Spanish company Iberdrola Ingenieria Y Consultoria has ordered an Ovation information and control system for its new plant in Cartagena from Westinghouse Process Control Inc. The new system will control and monitor plant operations at the energy works as well as controlling the main electrical fuel and supply systems. The 95 MW facility will generate electricity and steam for GE Plastics’ Cartagena polycarbonate plant which is currently being expanded. The first boiler is scheduled to produce process steam by early autumn, with the complete cogeneration plant expected to enter service by December 2001.
