The industrial gases company said that its LNG technology will be integral in producing nearly 16 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas from the Golden Pass LNG export project.
The LNG export project is being developed at Sabine Pass by Golden Pass Products, a joint venture between ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum.
Golden Pass LNG president Sean Ryan said: “We have brought together an exceptional team to implement this project, with Air Products supplying the liquefaction technology and equipment that will drive our facility.

Under its contract, Air Products will provide its AP-C3MRTM natural gas liquefaction technology and equipment, and three of its MCR Main Cryogenic Heat Exchangers for the LNG export project. These will be installed at the core of the propane pre-cooled mixed refrigerant liquefaction process for the LNG facility.

Air Products said that the LNG heat exchangers and associated equipment for the Golden Pass LNG export project will be manufactured at its Port Manatee facility in Florida.
The liquefaction project, which is expected to be commissioned in 2024, will comprise three LNG trains with a capacity of about 5.2 MTPA each.
The engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the three LNG trains will be handled by a consortium of McDermott International, Chiyoda International and Zachry Group under a contract worth more than $1bn.
Recently, Baker Hughes won the contract to supply turbomachinery equipment for the construction of the Golden Pass LNG export project. The turbomachinery equipment to be delivered by the GE company are six MS7001 EA heavy-duty gas turbines, that will drive 12 centrifugal compressors.
