EDS was responsible for the re-connection and testing of the array cable on the IG substation during the planned outage. Four contractors completed planned works at the same time so the whole operation was an excellent example of close team working, efficiently managed by Greater Gabbard to ensure a safe solution and minimal downtime.

Ken Ritson, Group Managing Director of EDS, said:

“This is an excellent example of the professionalism and high skill level of the EDS team. To make this project a success, and maximise Gabbard’s network availability, EDS had to work seamlessly with the other parties in a safe and efficient manner. We are very pleased with the outcome.”

Kenny Beardsell, site manager for Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm, added:

“This is a huge success for the site and my sincere thanks to all involved to ensure the safe completion of the works. The collaboration and team efforts that went into this project and the restoration of as many turbines as possible has been fantastic. We truly can achieve a great deal when the team works together.”
