The company will be responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the new 110/13.8kVsubstations including a gas insulated switchgear, transformers, a auxiliary AC/DC system and capacitor banks.

ABB will also deliver solutions including a supervisory control and data acquisition system, as well as automation, control and protection equipment and a global IEC 61850 standard compliant communication system.

The substations are expected to be commissioned in 2014.

The company recently announced similar orders worth more than $250m for new substations and reinforcement of existing ones in the eastern and central regions.
