Under the terms of the contract, ABB will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, installation and testing the six water-cooled static excitation systems, complete with water-cooled transformers, and high- and low-voltage bus ducts, as well as the removal of existing equipment.

According to ABB, the Unitrol 6800 is the latest and powerful generation of static excitation systems, based on the company’s AC 800PEC control system. Delivery of the units is scheduled to begin in 2011 and will be completed in 2013.
