Besides improving the financing costs, the bonds, which have been placed through three issues, also extended the maturities of the project’s debt.

The third issue has a maturity of 26 years and includes a 15 year grace period.

Abengoa received a concession contract from the Peruvian government in 2008 for construction and operation of the transmission line for a 30 year period.

Awarded using the guaranteed transmission system, the concession contract forms part of the government’s action plan to strengthen and expand the national interconnected electricity system (SEIN).

Comprising six substations, including three new units, the 572km-long high voltage Carhuamayo-Cajamarca line enables efficient and sustainable supply of the region’s energy.

Abengoa has to date participated in development of over 3,500km of electricity transport infrastructures in Peru.
