The $27.2m new transmission project will supply electricity to a new steel plant. This is the company’s third transmission project secured in Argentina in the last quarter of 2014.

Under the contract, Abengoa will be responsible for the procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of 6km-long 220kV double-circuit line, the extension of the Rosario Oeste transformer station and construction of a new 220kV transformer station.

Work under the contract will be performed at sites close to the city of Pérez, Santa Fe, and the project is planned for completion within 12 months.

The project will boost Abengoa’s experience of transmission lines.

Abengoa uses technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, generating electricity from renewable resources and converting biomass into biofuels.
