Under the agreement, Abengoa will develop, design and construct the plant with 35 2MW wind turbines.

The company will also provide operation and maintenance services for a 20-year period.

As per an operational leasing agreement, Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas will generate revenues of $500m by the end of the maintenance period. Abengoa will provide $6m under equity investment in the project.

The project is expected to generate enough electricity to meet the needs of around 100,000 people, while it will prevent CO2 emissions of around 140,000 per annum.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2014 and take 14 months to complete.
