To be located in Imperial Valley of south central California, US the project will have a capital outlay of $360m.
In addition to the clean power, the project in its design and development will also generate 150 jobs in local employment.
The project will be completed in the next 18 months and will be operational in the second half of 2013 and is expected to generate significant energy and fuel savings as well as reduce carbon emissions.
Abengoa currently has two solar-thermal power stations in the Arizona and Mojave deserts apart from other facilities in the US.
