Abengoa will be responsible for carrying out the engineering, design, construction and start-up of the $44m project covering a total distance of 85.65km.

The transmission lines are scheduled to come into operation in April 2013.

The contract will enable supply of electricity to the neighboring areas in an efficient, sustainable and secure way.

Currently, Abengoa is carrying out an additional four contracts with the CFE, including the Agua Prieta II project, which was awarded in July.
