The £230m project is being jointly developed by the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (Areg), European energy company Vattenfall and Paris-based energy services provider Technip.
Trump had recently criticized Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and bird conservation organization RSPB Scotland for lifting all objections for EOWDC.
As the wind farm is located in very close proximity to Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf course, the businessman’s lawyers ordered a public inquiry into the project, reported BBC.
In a letter to Marine Scotland, the lawyers stated, "No stone should be left unturned in establishing if there was any economic risk to the Menie resort."
The Trump organization hinted at legal action unless a public inquiry is held as the turbines are believed to affect business at the golf course by obstructing the sea view for golfers.
