The company said that the service station also sells conventional fuels. The service station is the first installation of its type installed by the company and is located 10 miles south-west of the city of Pamplona on the A-12 Autovia del Camino highway from Pamplona to Logrono.

The El Camino service station is reportedly one of the first in Spain and the first in the Navarre region to offer two types of biofuel. Acciona also supplies biofuels to other hydrocarbon operators and distributors and to captive fleets.

Acciona said that the service station will allow it to make a direct analysis of the impact of biofuels that are already available in the market on retail distributors. This will contribute towards their consolidation, as well as helping in the introduction of new alternative fuels.

The service station has set aside space for the future installation of a hydrogen facility, for when the first vehicles using this technology come onto the market.
