The news source reported that heavy vehicles including trucks and buses were denied fuel and were directed to refuel at other outlets in the industrial city of Musaffah, which is approximately 25km from Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) had stated that it will take measures to clear congestion at its Abu Dhabi outlets, after complaints were received from traffic police who were concerned about the logjam during peak hours.
The traffic situation eased after Adnoc put into effect its policy of not selling diesel to heavy vehicles. Trucks and buses from across the UAE made a bee-line to Abu Dhabi in the past few weeks seeking cheaper fuel, according to Emirates Business.
