Marv Bush, chief executive officer of Adura Systems commented, “David brings to Adura an amazing background in microturbine development and manufacturing from concept to production. At Elliott Energy Systems, he was responsible for the innovation and commercialization of the TA100 microturbine system, and at Solar Turbines, he invented the unique arrangement of the Mercury 50—the most efficient gas turbine combustion system in its size class to date. Also, he has expertise working with established vehicle manufacturers, such as Ford, on the integration of new and sophisticated automotive systems. With his knowledge and the expertise of Adura’s team of world-class developers, Adura is well poised to bring its breakthrough powertrain that provides up to 100 miles of pure electric range to a broad set of vehicle manufacturers.”
Dewis has nearly 30 years of expertise in the microturbine and small gas turbine manufacturing and deployment. Before joining Wall Colmonoy, he was president and chief operating officer of Elliott Energy Systems which was acquired by Calnetix. Previously, he was lead turbine engineer at Solar Turbines. He was also manufacturing services manager at Sundstrand Power Systems and principal design engineer at AlliedSignal Aerospace, respectively. Dewis received a B.Sc. with honors in mechanical engineering, with post graduate studies in engineering manufacture from Coventry University in the UK.
Dewis is currently chair of the IGTI Microturbine and Small Turbomachinery Committee, and past chair of the US Clean Heat and Power Association.
