AETI has purchased electrical technical services provider Assort as part of its growth strategy and the move is expected to accelerate AETI’s services in the offshore oil & gas market.

AETI chief executive Charles Dauber said the company intends to expand its footprint in Brazil, which is one of the major global markets.

"Part of our strategy is to add strategic capabilities through targeted acquisitions of respected companies like Assort Services," Dauber added.

"Having Assort as part of AETI Brazil enables us to accelerate our customer service capabilities in the Brazilian Campos Basin and other deep water regions, and we look forward to having them on our team."

Assort President Antonio Carlos Martins will join AETI Brazil as General Manager, Services, post the asset sale. He will report to AETI Brazil general manager Jose Octavio.

Assort’s services includes electrical system commissioning, preventative maintenance services, emergency electrical equipment services and power system upgrade services.

AETI Alliance Group Brazil is a joint venture between US-based AETI and Brazil’s 5 Star Services.
