Following on from the recent law revision by the Hungarian government to allow certain medicines to be sold outside of pharmacies, Agip has revealed that it intends to introduce over-the-counter and non-prescription drugs to its forecourts in the eastern European country in the new year.

The Hungarian Ministry of Health believes the rule change will affect around 100 to 150 medical products. Agip said that it was already in negotiations about bringing the products to its petrol station shops.

We have already started negotiations with several drug manufacturers, as we would like to live with the opportunity to sell OTC medicine – mainly painkillers, antifebrils and allergy medicine – at our stations, Agip Hungaria CEO Roberto Mulinacci said.
