AceBlade is an unidirectional glass fiber reinforcement, which is expected to offer superior resistance and enhanced mechanical properties.
The new product, which can be used for vacuum infusion processes, will deliver significant benefits for designers and manufacturers of wind turbine blades, noted the company.
According to Ahlstrom, AceBlade will be helpful to reduce raw material costs during blade manufacture, and includes good resin flow properties that minimise air voids and deliver optimised production costs.
Ahlstrom produces products that are used in different applications such as filters, medical gowns and drapes, diagnostics, wallcoverings, flooring and food packaging.
