Under the contract, Technip will be responsible for providing technology, engineering and procurement services for the 3.5 million standard cubic meters per day plant.

Planned to be built through the alliance between Air Products and Technip, the hydrogen plant will feature Technip-built high efficiency steam methane reforming (SMR) technology to enable production of high purity hydrogen, carbon monoxide and export steam.

Project work is planned to be carried out by Technip from its operating center in Claremont, California, US. The project is planned to be completed in 2018.

The plant also features a latest nitrogen oxide reduction technology capable of reducing emissions.

The hydrogen and carbon monoxide produced from the plant will be delivered to customers from Air Products’ established Gulf Coast Hydrogen and CO Pipeline Networks.

Currently, the Technip-Air Products alliance is responsible for over 35 hydrogen production plants which are located in 11 countries.
