The MEG reclamation plant will be located on the floating production storage and offloading unit built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea.

Aker Solutions will provide system engineering services and supply the key equipment for the MEG plant under the contract and it may also provide some further options.

Aker Solutions process systems business head David Merle said the company is participating in the Ichthys LNG Project and in the growth of the Australian oil and gas market.

"This contract confirms Aker Solutions’ position as the world market leader for MEG reclamation technology," Merle added.

Aker Solutions will carry out the management, engineering and procurement of the project from its offices in Norway and Australia.

The MEG reclamation technology removes water, hydrocarbons and salts and enables mono ethylene glycol to be recycled with high recover rate and quality, while reducing scaling and corrosion in the reclamation and injection systems.

The plant is scheduled to be delivered in 2013 and 2014.

Norway based Aker Solutions provides oilfield products, systems and services.
