Alfa Laval’s plate heat exchangers and filters will be used in the reactor island cooling system where seawater is used to cool a fresh water circuit for various equipment in the plant.

Lars Renstrom, president and CEO of Alfa Laval, said: “China has intensified the pace to build up its nuclear power generating capacity and the plan is to reach at least 60 GWe by 2020, corresponding to about 50 new reactors.

“Alfa Laval has delivered equipment to the majority of the nuclear power plants in China and this order confirms our strong position in this market.”

Alfa Laval is a provider of products and engineering solutions based on its technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.
