The gas-fired cogeneration combined-cycle unit is designed to have a 420MW of electrical power capacity and up to 265MW of district heating capacity.

The integration of this unit will bring total plant capacity up to 1,830MW, making the TPP-26 plant a pivotal contributor to the Russian grid as well as a valuable source of district heating, Alstom said.

Alstom and Mosenergo signed a memorandum of understanding last year, under which both companies will develop combined-cycle power technologies, supply integrated power island solutions for thermal plants, and modernize and repower Mosenergo’s fleet.
