The Santo Antonio do Jari run-of-the-river hydroelectric facility will be constructed on the Jari river in the Amazonian region of Brazil and is expected to be commissioned in late 2014.

Alstom will deliver Kaplan turbines and generators, hydromechanical equipment, lifting equipment, and digital control system for the power project.

The company will also be responsible for the engineering works, erection, supervision and commissioning of the facility’s three units.

Alstom said it delivered more than 100 hydro turbines and generators in Brazil over the past ten years.
