The facility, in which Alstom will hold a 50% interest, will manufacture equipment for small and medium-sized hydropower plants with capacities of up to 25MW and 100MW, respectively.

The plant will also manufacture equipment for pumped storage plants with capacities of up to 150MW, as well as auxiliary equipment.

The facility is expected to provide equipment for the integrated modernisation of the Kubansky Cascade hydropower plant, for which Alstom, the Russian United Energy-Construction Corp and RusHydro signed an agreement last month.
