Located in Segari in the state of Perak, the 1,943MW power plant includes three combined-cycle blocks each equipped with three GT13E2 units running on natural gas with oil as back-up fuel.

Under the 11-year contract, which covers all nine GT13E2 gas turbines, Alstom will provide new hot gas path components and reconditioning services for all major inspections.

Alstom said this contract follows an earlier seven-year service agreement with Teknik Janakuasa for the Lumut plant, which begun operation in 2004.

Teknik Janakuasa is a wholly-owned O&M subsidiary of Malaysia-based independent power producer Malakoff Corporation.
