The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Soyuz Holding to establish a joint venture (JV) for local manufacture and commercialisation of Alstom Grid high voltage switchgear products by the end of 2011.
Manufacturing for the new JV is set to take place in Soyuz’s existing high voltage switchgear facilities in Mozhaisk, Russia.
Alstom has also joined forces with Russian firm KER to study the creation of a JV for engineering and project execution in the high voltage direct current sector.
