The substation will be developed for a 1320MW coal based power project called the Meja Urja Nigam, a joint venture between NTPC and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam.

The 1320MW (2x660MW) Meja power project has been developed to increase the power capacity in the northern region of the Indian transmission grid.

The company under the contract will engineer, supply, erect, test and commission the 400kV substation located at Meja in Allahabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The scope of work also includes delivering generator transformer, interconnecting transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, instrument transformers and substation automation system.

The company will deliver the products manufactured at its facilities located at Naini in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Padappai, Hosur and Pallavaram in the state of Tamilnadu.
