The French engineering group is already supplying one GT13E2 turbine for the power project under a contract that was awarded in 2010.
With the new contract, Alstom will have supplied seven GT13E2 gas turbines in Nigeria including the 480MW Okpai and the 640MW Afam VI power plants.
These projects cumulatively add about 1,400MW in gas turbine based power plant capacity, representing more than 20% of the total installed generation capacity in Nigeria, Alstom said.
