The fleet upgrade framework contract includes seven power plants located in the US states of Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia.

The company will perform the upgrades over a period of several years, with the first unit expected to be commissioned in 2013.
Alstom claims that the upgrades will allow AEP to continue to operate its assets with an improved efficiency and a high level of reliability.
