Under the contract, Alstom will repair and modernize the generator at Døvikfoss power plant.

The dismantling works started in May 2014 to limit the loss of energy production due to the spilling of water. The new and refurbished parts integration will be completed in June 2015.

Energiselskapet Buskerud production executive vice president Erik Andersen said: "The hydropower plant is important for our energy supply in this region and we have chosen Alstom because of their competitive offer and their experience and expertise from similar types of projects."

Alstom Norway country president Eric Staurset said: "Our hydropower experiences and our dedicated services team will be fully commited to refurbish the Døvikfoss hydropower plant in the most optimal way."

Built in 1975, the Døvikfoss hydro power plant is located in the community of Modum, in the south eastern part of Norway.

Earlier, Alstom completed other hydro projects for EB in Norway including Mykstufoss and Kaggefoss rehabilitation projects.
