The company will also provide maintenance services for the wind farms, which are expected to combinedly generate 580,000MWh of electricity per year and avoid more than 300,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

The wind farms will feature Alstom’s ECO 86 turbines and will be equipped with the company’s SCADA system enabling local and remote access to wind turbine data for optimized operation and maintenance.

Alstom will manufacture the wind turbine generators at its new facility in Bahia, Brazil, combined with partial supplies from its plant in Buñuel, Spain.

Brasventos is a special purpose company composed of J Malucelli Energia (51%), Eletrobras Eletronorte (24,5%) and Eletrobras Furnas (24,5%).
