Weighing around 9,000 tons, the equipment includes roller gates (10.5m wide and 23m high), stop-logs and a tower (75 m wide, 25 m high) for the mechanical drives for five spillway bays, as well as 12 trashracks, intake gates (6.5m wide, 20m high), mechanical drives and stop-logs for the powerhouse.

In January 2013, the company had received an order to supply four Kaplan turbines and four synchronous generators of at least 206MW for the facility, which is scheduled to commission in 2017.

Located on the lower Churchill River in Labrador, the plant will replace energy production of an existing oil-fired thermal power station, displacing annual carbon dioxide emissions by up to 4.5 megatons per year.
