The company said that this declaration by WDEQ paves the way for the final approval of five deep disposal wells in the permit area.

The application was made by Peninsula’s wholly owned subsidiary, Strata Energy.

WDEQ informed the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), which is now reviewing the application material and draft permit.

The permit will grant strata the permission to drill the disposal wells that will be used to inject low-level wastes into brackish to saline ground water at depths in excess of 8,000ft.
